Betty Conrad Roberts

Betty Elizabeth Conrad Roberts, 92, of Lexington passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the Hinkle Hospice House following a short illness.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Holly Grove Lutheran Church with Pastor Matt Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.

Mrs. Roberts was born in Davidson County on March 7, 1927 to Ada Byerly Conrad and Adam Efrid Conrad. Mrs. Roberts had a deep love for God and her family and extended family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Some of her favorite pastimes included cooking, canning, basket making, singing with her beautiful voice and playing cards with friends and family. Mrs. Roberts was also very passionate about remembering friends and family through written correspondence. She was a retired weaver, having worked for Burlington Industries for thirty five years. She was a member of Holly Grove Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, JB Conrad, Simon Conrad, John Conrad, Clyde Conrad, Carl Conrad, Cromer Conrad and Avery Conrad; and three sisters, Edith Fritts, Thelma Younts and Marcella Kennedy.

Surviving are her loving husband of 75 years, Bill Roberts. Also surviving are her son, Houston Roberts (Linda) of Pinehurst; her daughter, Kathi Byrne (Dr. John Byrne) of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Brooks Roberts, Kathryn Christenbury (Joseph), Jacob Byrne (Newton Allen) and Aaron Byrne; and two great-grandchildren, Clay and Carden Christenbury; a brother, Paul Conrad of Lexington.
