Betty Byerly Scott

Betty Byerly Scott, 87, passed away October 29, 2024 at Hinkle Hospice House.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday November 3, 2024 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Oscar Kirkus speaking.

The family will visit with friends Saturday November 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. They will also receive friends and family at the home of Amberlie Gobble anytime.

Betty was born August 7, 1937 to Elmer and Claudia Beck Byerly in Davidson County NC. She worked for United Furniture Industries and enjoyed cleaning houses and ironing clothes for friends on the side.  Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband, Sherman Ray Scott, her brothers; James, Robert, Jack, and Charlie, her sisters; Ann Kirkus, Helene Kirkus, Martha Wilton Miller, Mary Driver, Shirley Rood and, infant Priscilla Byerly and John (Johnny) Gobble.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons; Derek Scott (Penny Kennedy), and Destry “Peanut” Shannon Scott, and her daughter, Alana Scott Gobble (Gregory Scott Darnell), 3 grandchildren; Matthew Scott, Amberlie Gobble, and Chelsea England, and 6 great-grandchildren; Nina Scott, Tiana Hopkins, Aaliyah Hopkins, Savannah Creakman, Remington Phillips, and Brayden Hopkins, and a host of nieces and nephews.
