Betty Byrd Shell

Betty Byrd Shell, 82, of Grayland Street, died Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Forsyth Medical Center. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. Mrs. Shell was born October 8, 1931, in Forsyth County, to Stacy Vestal Byrd and Dora Adams Byrd. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Lee Shell; and son, Anthony Lee Shell. Surviving are sons, Barry Wayne Shell of Winston-Salem, Ricky Gray Shell and Edgar Allen Shell, both of Lexington; daughters, Diane Willett of Gibsonville and Teresa Jean O’Neal of Lexington; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Danny Byrd of Lexington.
