Betty Beasley Shelton

Betty Ann Beasley Shelton, 92, of Lexington, passed away Tuesday March 1, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

A cremation graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday March 8, 2022 at Ramsey Family Cemetery in Marshall North Carolina with Rev. David Langley officiating services.

Mrs. Shelton was born December 4, 1929 in Hamilton County Tennessee to Joseph Beasley and Mary Kate Ramsey Beasley. Betty made her home with her son and his wife, Browder and Teresa Shelton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Andrew Simon Shelton; a sister, Shirley Roberts Wilde; and a baby brother, James Beasley.

Surviving are two sons, Browder Shelton (Teresa) and Harold Dean Shelton (Jennie) both of Lexington; one daughter, Kay Shelton Leonard of Lexington; two brothers, Frank Beasley of Lexington and Dan Beasley (Faye) of Marshall North Carolina; one sister, Gail Roberts Herd of Colorado; 5 grandchildren, Jodi Shelton Young (Chris), Jennifer Taylor Oliver, Vanessa Taylor Gay (Darren), Jeremy Shelton and Brian Leonard (Megan); 5 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild.
