Betty Craver Temple

Betty Ruth Craver Temple, 91, passed peacefully to her Heavenly home on November 12th. Originally from Reeds, NC, Betty was the beloved wife of Shelburne “Chub” Temple (deceased) for over 59 years. They made their home, with their children, in New Ellenton, SC before retiring on Wadmalaw Island, SC.

Prior to her retirement, Betty owned and operated beauty salons in New Ellenton, Aiken, and Barnwell, SC. As a born-again Christian, she was an active member of Foreman Memorial Baptist Church and Rockville Presbyterian Church for many years and enjoyed ministering through the M.O.M.s program in Rockville, providing meals to shut-ins.

She is preceded in death by her high-school sweetheart, Chub, and is survived by her sons: Tony (Elizabeth) and Scotty (Cathy), grandchildren: Wendy, Zack, Jennifer, and Cody, and many great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 3 pm Thursday, November 18, at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington, NC. She will be interred at Reeds Baptist Church Cemetery, immediately following.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-3 pm prior to the service.
