Bettylou Swanson Ridge

BettyLou Swanson Ridge, age 93 of Brookstone Retirement Center, formerly of Wafford Circle, Lexington passed away Wednesday night, May 10, 2017 at Brookstone Retirement Center. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 Pm Friday, June 9, 2017 at Macedonia United Methodist Church with Rev. Tammy Talbert officiating. The family will greet friends before and following the service. BettyLou was born in Thurston County, Washington August 8, 1923 to Herbert Swanson and Grace Martin Swanson. BettyLou was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she loved her grandson Eric. She was a retired employee of Young Hinkle and Dixie Furniture and later worked for 11 years at the Jiffy Kitchen. She was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for many years, and loved seeing her church family which made her happy. She was a friend to everyone she met. She loved to crochet and read. She and Cleo Owens exchanged books all the time and where like sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Burrell Baxter Ridge and her sister, June Makula. She will be missed by many family and friends. BettyLou had great memories of Larry and Marie and their family and loved them all. Surviving are her son, Herbert Ridge and wife Prudence of Lexington; a grandson, Eric Ridge; 2 nieces, Diana Boysen and Nancy Bills of Olympia, WA; a nephew, James Makula of Olympia, WA and several great-nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Brookstone Retirement Center for all the care they gave her over the years and to Hospice for the last week of her life.
