Beulah Swing

Beulah Lillian Smith Swing, 92, of Becks Church Road, died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Hinkle Hospice House, following an extended illness. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Beck’s Reformed Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Gerald Sanders. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the home of Bobby and Evelyne Swing. Mrs. Swing was born January 29, 1919, in Davidson County, to William Henderson and Lillian Idell Smith. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Sudie Long, Mabel Feree, Willie Crowell, Blanche Logue, and Undine Swicegood; and a brother, Roy Smith. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Robert “Robbie” Gladford Swing; son, Robert Henderson “Bobby” Swing and wife, Evelyne; grandchildren, Tracy Kepley and husband, Wyatt, and Krista Boles; great-grandchildren, Mycah Kepley and Hamilton Kepley; and sisters, Lois Willard of Salisbury and Nettie Maley of Lexington.
