Beverly Jean Nelson

Beverly Jean Nelson, 71, of Lexington, NC, went to be with the Lord on Sunday January, 21, 2018 at her home.  A celebration of life/memorial service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Davidson Funeral Home with Reverend Eric Disher speaking at the celebration.  Beverly Nelson was born on October 14, 1946 in Blue Island, IL to Harry and Fern Mathews.  She was a RN nurse, receiving both her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Nursing.  Beverly worked as a nurse in many administrative capacities, always having a strong passion for her work.  Beverly has been loved by many.  She leaves behind her loving husband, Richard A. Nelson, her adoring son, Brice Nelson, and her loving daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Johnson and John Johnson.  She was also dearly loved by her four precious grandchildren, John Colton, Elliana, Dane, and Tucker Johnson.  Beverly also leaves behind her siblings and their spouses and families whom she loved dearly, Rich (Matt) and Diane Mathews, Harlan Mathews, and Dawn and Curt Christenson.   Beverly loved her family more than anything and was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt.  Donations may be made in lieu of flowers, to The American Cancer Society, as Beverly is a twice survivor of breast cancer.  A special thanks to the amazing doctors and nurses that helped care for her as her health declined the last few years.
