Beverly (Rusty) Diann Brandon Richey, 66, of Winston Salem, NC passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025.
Born in Winston Salem on May 21, 1959 to Bill and Yvonne Brandon, Rusty spent her life rooted in her family and people she cherished most. She was a devoted wife to Terre Richey, a loving mother to Billy Moore (Jessica), Felicity Richey, Noah Richey, and Brandon Richey (Preslie), a nurturing grandmother to Brandon Moore, Matthew Moore, Cole Moore, and Chelsea Neace, and a friend to many.
Rusty had a true gift for bringing beauty into the world — both through her passion for gardening and her talent for creating stunning flower arrangements that reflected her joyful and generous spirit. She found her greatest happiness in the company of family and friends, whether tending her garden, cooking a favorite meal, or sharing laughter around the table.
Those who knew Rusty will remember not only her warmth and kindness, but also her sass and spark. She had a quick wit, a playful sense of humor, and a way of saying exactly what she thought — always with love, laughter, and a little bit of fire. Rusty was a mother not only to her own children, but to countless others — whether they liked it or not. Her strength, humor, and fierce love made her unforgettable.
A celebration of Rusty’s life will be held at Boyers Church of Christ on November 15, 2025 at 2:00pm, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the love she so freely gave.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the beautiful garden she cultivated — both around her home and in the hearts of those she loved.
