Bill James

William (Bill) James age 83 of Lexington passed away Saturday April 1, 2023 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital surrounded by family. A graveside service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Good Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Pastor Johnny Lord.  The family will see friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel.

Mr. James was born October 1, 1939, in Davidson County to the late Lee and Lizzie Hailey James. He retired from Proctor and Schwartz in March 2006 and continued farming.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa James Tate. He was also preceded by brothers, Charles Franklin (Bud) James and Archie (Art) James and a sister, Pelma Sue James.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 64 years, Rebecca Pauline Hanes James of the home. His son Randy James (Vivian) of Lexington. Two grandchildren, Misty Jones (Brian) and Ryan James and a great grandchild Tyler Jones. Four brothers: Roger James, Woodie James (Vickie), Mark James (Carolyn) and Clifford James (Gail) all of Lexington. Also surviving are a host of Nieces and Nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Abbotts Creek Rehabilitation Center.
