Bill Newsome

Billy Morris Newsome, 76, of Lexington went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at his vacation home in Oak Island.

A funeral service will be held at 4 pm on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Grace Alliance Church with Pastor Tim Higgs officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 7 pm on Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.

Mr. Newsome was born in Davidson County on February 13, 1946, to William Newsome and Lucy Owens Newsome. He was a member of Grace Alliance Church and was the owner of Newsome Grading. Mr. Newsome was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather whose memory will be cherished forevermore. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Carol Everhart Newsome; his two sons, Kenny Newsome (Paula), and Benny Newsome (Vivian) and children, Allie, Emily, and Cloey; a brother, Jerry Newsome; and two sisters, Mary Lanning (Bucky), and Pat Trivette.
