Bill Roberts

Billie Houston Roberts Sr, 94, of Remer-Regan Road, died Sunday, February 28, at Hinkle Hospice House. A private graveside service will be held at Holly Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery. Mr. Roberts was born June 8, 1926 in Wilkes County to Reynolds and Lessie Money Roberts. He raised his family in Asheboro and worked for Burlington Industries. After his retirement, he moved to Lexington, where he was a member of Holly Grove Lutheran Church. He was an avid deep sea fisherman. Preceding him in death were his wife, Betty Conrad Roberts; his sisters, Doretha Morrison and Annie Holleman, and his brothers, Grady Roberts and Leo Roberts. He is survived by his son, Houston Roberts (Linda) of Pinehurst; his daughter, Kathi Byrne (Dr. John Byrne) of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Brooks Roberts, Kathryn Christenbury (Joseph), Jacob Byrne (Newton Allen) and Aaron Byrne; two great-grandchildren, Clay and Carden Christenbury; and his brother, J.R. Roberts (Nannie) of Lexington. Memorials may be directed to Holly Grove Lutheran Church at 212 Holly Grove Lutheran Church Rd, Lexington, NC 27292.
