Bill Shaw

Aaron “Bill” Gilbert Shaw, 67 of Linwood Southmont Road, died Sunday May 22, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after an extended illness. A memorial service will be held 11:00am, Thursday at Jersey Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Dr. Michael Collier and Rev. Thomas Allen officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home on Linwood Southmont Road. Mr. Shaw was born in Davidson County on August 19, 1943, to Aaron Kenneth Shaw and Flora Hartley Shaw. He was a self employed truck driver and took great pride in his grandchildren and had a passion for camping, fishing and playing golf. Mr. Shaw was proceeded in death by his father and a sister Flora Jane Shaw Surviving are his wife Rachel Russell Shaw of the home; son, Bryan Shaw and wife, Janet, of Welcome; daughter, Tonia Pennington and husband, Kevin, of Lexington; brothers, Tony Shaw and wife, Martha, of Lexington and Kenneth Shaw and wife, Summer, of South Carolina; sister, Jean Shaw Reid of Lexington; and grandchildren, Meredith Queen, Sarah Pennington and Scott Pennington II.
