Billie Pickett Sink

June 11, 1927 — December 17, 2017

Billie Pickett Sink, age 90, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017.  She was born in Lexington, North Carolina to the late Willie Irvin Pickett and Willie Mae Thomason Pickett.  She graduated from Lexington Senior High School and attended Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  She retired as administrative assistant to the Dean of the School of Nursing at UNC Greensboro.   Billie was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church where she served as chairman of her circle and worked for many years with the children and youth of her church.  She was a loving and devoted wife and mother.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Homer A. Sink, and her sister, Betty Graves Rue.   She is survived by her daughter, Susan Tutterrow Chamberlain and husband, Dakin of Roswell, Georgia; son, Dr. Homer A. Sink, Jr. (Andy) and wife Kathleen of Winter Park, Florida; grandson, Charles (Alex) Tutterrow  and wife, Samantha of Cumming, Georgia; granddaughter, Ashley Tutterrow of Alpharetta, Georgia; great-grandchildren Hunter, Nathan and AnnMarie of Cumming, Georgia, and a sister, Jo Doris Beck of Lexington.   A graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Lexington on Tuesday, December 19 at 1:00 pm.  The family will greet family and friends between 11:30 and 12:30 at Davidson Funeral Home, 301 North Main Street, Lexington, NC.   In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Grace United Methodist, 438 W. Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27401, or to Friends Homes West Residence Assistance Fund, 6100 West Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27410.
