Billy Joe Anderson Sr.

Billy Joe Anderson Sr., 69, of Hames Street, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at his home. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 31, at Psalm 91 church, where he was a member, with the Revs. Max Shoaf, Victor Hicks and Ronnie Purdue officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mr. Anderson was born March 6, 1943, in Guilford County, to Ray Garland Anderson and Sally McCraw Collins. He was a retired roofer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Surviving are his loving wife, Nancy Bowman Anderson of the home; son, Billy Anderson Jr. and wife Deborah of South Carolina; Sheila Clontz and husband, Pat, Bonnie Wilkey and husband, Lee, Wendy Craver and husband, Jimmy, and Angela Anderson, all of Lexington; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and sister, Emily Bailey and husband Donnie of Julian.
