Billy Dean Barnes

Billy Dean Barnes, 76, passed away, June 18, 2016, at his home. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the service. Mr. Barnes was born January 8, 1940, in Davidson County, to the late Marshall “Pete” and Veigh Grubb Barnes. He attended Churchland High School and Barber School of Winston-Salem. He barbered for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Jarrell Barnes; and a brother, Sammie Richard Barnes. Surviving are his wife’s son, Tim McCarn and wife Mary Anne of Florida and their daughter, Meagan of Louisanna; two sisters, Velma Honeycutt of Spring Arbor of Albemarle and Mable Lou Spach and husband Tommy of Winston-Salem; brother, Henderson Barnes of Lexington; one sister-in-law, Nancy Smith of New Hill; three nieces and three nephews; and special friends, Kevin Long and Glenn Grubb. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of the Donor’s choice.
