Billy Beck

Billy Joe Beck, 72, of South Main Street, passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 15, 2011, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Kenneth Marshburn. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service and other times at the home of Tina Barnes, 1705 Bethesda Road. Billy was born in Davidson County on Aug. 11, 1938, to Sam Beck and Lina Tussey Beck. He was a member of Second United Church of Christ. He was a retired employee of Thomasville Furniture Industries, where he worked in many areas of the plant. He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepdaughter, Linda Gallimore. Surviving are his wife, Inez Berrier Beck of the home; three daughters, Robin Richards, Donna Durham and Rochelle Beck, all of Lexington; two sons, Billy Beck Jr. of Wilmington and Scotty Beck of Lexington; four stepchildren, Robert Mize Jr. of Tennessee and Mae Steed, Tina Barnes and Michelle Frizzell, all of Lexington; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.
