Billy Franklin (Bill) Clodfelter, age 84 of Mitchell Avenue, Lexington passed away suddenly Saturday, April 23, 2016.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at First United Methodist Church where he was a member with Rev. Doug Rowe officiating. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 Tuesday night and at other times at the home.
Bill was born in Davidson County August 10, 1931 to Russell F. Clodfelter and Gertha Weaver Clodfelter. Bill was a retired Vice-President of Safety and Personnel with Billings Freight Systems; member of N.C. Motors Carriers Safety Council and Piedmont Grievance Committee; a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean War; and a member of Triad Investment Club. At First Methodist Church he served as an usher, Administrative Board and a member of The Spruill Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Rebecca (Becky) Thomason Clodfelter in 1997 and second wife, Shirley Baker Clodfelter and a sister Peggy Shoaf.
Bill is survived by his sons, Tim C. Clodfelter and wife Lorraine of San Antonio, TX and Scott Clodfelter and wife Anne of Enka, NC; three grandchildren, Travis, Nicole and Rebecca Clodfelter.
