Billy Bowers

Billy Howard Bowers, 72, of Conrad Hill Mine Rd, died Wednesday, February 25 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Monday, March 2 at Hedrick’s Grove United Church of Christ, by the Rev. William Sowers. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mr. Bowers was born August 2, 1942 in Davidson County to Howard Clifford Bowers and Mary Everhart Bowers. He retired from R.J. Reynolds after 38 years of service as a machinist and was a farmer. He was a member of Hedrick’s Grove United Church of Christ. His wife, Sandra Kaye Owens Bowers, preceded him in death. He is survived by his sons, Jim Bowers and partner, Shelia Harmon, Guy Bowers and wife, Tiffany, and Jacob Bowers, and partner, Joe Lowder, all of Lexington; his daughter, Heather Bowers-Shea and husband, Jeff, of Detroit, MI; his sister, Mary Jo Lambeth and husband, Joe Don, of Beaver Creek, OH; and his grandchildren, Gus and Breckin Bowers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hedrick’s Grove United Church of Christ General Fund, 5687 E. Old Hwy 64, Lexington NC 27292.
