Billy Darnell Comer, 76, of Highway 8, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center following a critical illness of three weeks.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Central Baptist Church, where he was a charter member and past deacon, by the Revs. Billy Sloop and Ken Evans.
Mr. Comer was born October 13, 1931, in Davidson County to Walter Floyd Comer and Stellia Jarvis Comer. He was served in the U.S. Air Force and was retired from PPG. In addition to his parents Mr. Comer was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Honbaier.
Surviving are his wife, Voncille Lookabill Comer of the home; son, Butch Comer and wife, Giselle, of Lexington; daughters, Lou Ann Honbaier, Jill Lemons and husband, Alan, and Sue Story and husband, Terry, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Paul Lemons, Ryan Story and wife, Erica, Rusty Story, Andrea Lemons, C.J. Honbaier, Emma Comer and Mackenzie Comer; two great-grandchildren, Dylan Story and Adam Laws; a brother, Steve Comer of Lexington; and sisters, Betty Cashwell of High Point, Jane Leonard, Lenora Clark and Donese McBride, all of Lexington.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
