Billy James Davis, age 65 of East Old Highway 64 , Lexington died Wednesday, May 14 , 2008 at High Point Regional Hospital after a sudden illness.
The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home by the Rev. Tommy Wilson.
Mr. Davis was born March 4, 1943, in Davidson County, to Roy Shelton Davis and Emma Grubb Davis. He was a graduate of Denton High School and attended East Carolina University. After completing coursework at the School of Roentgenological Technology at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, he received his certification as a Registered Technologist in X-Ray Technology. He worked in the radiology department at Moses Cone for two years before moving to Richmond, Va., where he was employed at Medical College of Virginia for 25 years. He was a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. After his retirement and return to Lexington he worked at Winn Dixie and BiLo. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Eloise Davis, Della Mae Davis Beck and Joanne Davis Pope.
Surviving are brother-in-law, Clois Beck of Lexington; nephews, Larry Beck and wife, Sue, Johnny Beck and wife, Sydney, Tommy Beck and wife, Kay, all of Lexington, Jimmy Sexton and wife, Denise, and Joel Sexton, all of Denton; special friends, Frank and Judy Stoner; and beloved pets, cat, Maggie and bird, Abercrombie.
The family will receive friends following the service.
