Billy Hinson

  Billy Ray Hinson, age 72, of Lexington passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Abbotts Creek.   A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with the Preacher Clyde Akers officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service.   Billy was born in Davidson County to Dan Hinson and Minnie Michael Oakley on May 1, 1945.  He was a carpenter and was of the Baptist faith.  He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Richard Oakley, two children; Travis Adams, Harley Hinson, five brothers, Dan Hinson, Bobby Oakley, Farlen Oakley, Terry Oakley and Paul Jr Hill.   He is survived by two sons, Levi Hinson and Billy Ray Hinson; daughters, Tammy Adams Baker (Jon), Wendy Sewell (Jerry) and Elizabeth Traughber (Rick); brothers, Toby Oakley and William “Doody” Hinson (Mary Ellen); sisters, Wendy Lohr (Herb), Mitzi McBride (Todd) and Peggy Swicegood (Howard); 16 grandchildren and 11 great-gramdchildren.   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
