Billy Jones

Billy Jones, 69, of Beck's Church Road, died Friday, April 6, 2007, at his home. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Larry Peterson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Jones was born Aug. 30, 1937, in Avery County to Raymond Jones and Sally Hinkle Jones. He retired from Lexington Furniture Industries, Linwood, Plant No. 2. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Roella Harris Jones of the home; three daughters, Linda J. Stone and Tara J. Vaughn and her husband, Johnny, all of Lexington, and Kaye J. Johnston and her husband, Tim, of Linwood; a brother, Elmer Jones and his wife, Esther, of Linwood; four grandchildren, Dana Spainhour and her husband, Daniel, of Southmont, Chad Mahala of Linwood, Amanda Smith and her husband, William, of Archdale and Bradley Stone of Lexington; and four sisters, Edith King of Clemmons, Myrtle Gardner of Southmont, Thelma Freeman of Seattle, Wash., and Pansy Hughes of Newland. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church and other times at the home.
