Mr. Billy Parks Craver, 96, of Happy Hill Road, died Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2026, at Davidson Funeral Chapel, Lexington, with Pastor Terry Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Reeds Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He was born on January 1, 1930, in Davidson County, to the late Lorenzo Parks and Margaret Gertrude Farabee Craver.
Mr. Craver was a lifetime member of Reeds Baptist Church. He retired from Dixie Furniture with 49 years of service, where he worked as Purchasing Manager. He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping, and visiting the beach and mountains. Bill loved tending to his yard, gardening, and planting roses. Mr. Craver could fix and repair anything. Up until the very end, he enjoyed riding his Kubota tractor around the yard and checking on his homestead. He would also routinely visit Riverside Carp Pond in Yadkin College, which he leased out, to see the day’s catches. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered as a fine man, a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather, and a great friend to many.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Jackson “Jack” Craver (Jeanne) and a great-grandchild, Camden Snow.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Sara Mae Koonts Craver, of the home; sons, Stephen Craver (Joni) and Lee Craver (Linda); six grandchildren, Derek Craver, Brandon Craver, Chase Leonard, Justin Leonard (Shannon), Adam Craver, Andrew Craver (Taylor); three great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Leonard, Greyson Leonard, and Barrett Craver; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be considered for Alderwood Hospice, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
