Billy Franklin Sink

Billy Franklin Sink, age 88, of Salisbury, NC passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Genesis Health Care. There will be no funeral service, however the family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington from 1:00 until 3:00 pm Friday afternoon. Mr. Sink was born March 22, 1926, in Davidson County to William Franklin and Phebe Evans Sink. He was a retired welder and pipe fitter with Contract Materials in Wheeling, IL, and a member of St Francis Catholic Church in Salisbury; a veteran of the US Navy and a member of the American Legion. He loved his family, fishing and his dogs, Little Bit and Lucy. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Billy Sink, sister, Lois Starbuck, and brothers, Ralph and Roy Sink, brother-in-law, Donald Lanier. Surviving are his wife, Rita Stratton Sink of the home; sons, Thomas Sink (Val) of Hebron, IL, step-sons, Robert Hansen of Johnsburg, IL and Edward Hansen of San Diego, CA, step- daughters, Tina Aasen (Mark) of Fayetteville, GA, Rita Rogers of Fox River Grove, IL and Jody Hansen of Cape Coral, FL; 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Lanier of Houston, TX; brothers, Gene Sink (Priss) of Lexington and Noel Sink (Pat) of Bridgeton, NJ., daughter-in-law, Patricia Sink of Cary, IL.
