Billy Joe Sowers

Billy Joe Sowers, age 67, of Friendship Church Road; passed away suddenly Saturday morning November 13. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday November 17, at Good Hope United Methodist Church, with Landon Grant officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 Tuesday November 16, at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the home of the son 984 N. N.C. Hwy 150, Lexington. Bill was born October 7, 1943 in Davidson County to Walter Franklin and Lelia Carter Sowers. He was the owner of Reedy Creek Motors, and attended Midway United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by one son Jeff Sowers and wife Missy of Lexington; one daughter Julie Sowers of Lexington; two brothers, George Sowers and wife Dot, and Don Sowers and wife Brenda both of Lexington; three grandchildren, Hannah and Tanner Sowers and Matthew Barroso; his life-mate partner Joan Bodenhamer of Lexington, and her children, Greg Bodenhamer, Angie Nifong, Jackie Raynor, and Landon Grant; he is also survived by his ex-wife Pat Coppley of Lexington.
