Blanche Elizabeth Charles Welch, 92 of Hill Everhart Rd., Lexington departed this life and entered into the joy of the Lord on Sunday January 26, 2014 at Abbotts Creek Care and Rehabilitation Center. A funeral service of Resurrection Faith will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday in Davidson Funeral Home Chapel Lexington, with Dr. William B. Shrout, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times the home, Hill Everhart Rd. Blanche was known for her deep faith, humble spirit and gentle ways. Above all she loved the Lord, her family, friends, and quilting with the Pilgrim United Church of Christ ladies. She was born in Davidson County on December 5, 1921 to Jake and Eunice Bailey Charles. She retired from Coble Dairy and worked at Siceloff Manufacturing for many years. She was a member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ serving in many leadership positions. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ray Welch, parents, brothers Joe and Eugene Charles and sister Frances Charles. Blanche will be deeply missed by her surviving families, sons Jerry and wife Ronda Welch of Lexington, Sam Welch of the home, who was her caregiver, daughter Grecia Welch Sanniota and husband Vic of High Point, grandchildren, Dawn Welch, Sherri Welch, Melissa Welch Leonard and husband Jeff, Scott Sanniota and wife Julie, Angie Sanniota Michaud and husband Scott, Kelly Sanniota Ellis and husband Doug, 11 great grandchildren and brother Russell Charles and wife Betty and sisters, Alice Layton and Nora Charles.
