Bobbie Sharpe Walser

September 30, 1927 — February 23, 2014

Bobbie Sharpe Walser, of Carolina House, formerly of Linwood passed away Sunday morning at Carolina House after many years of declining health. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday at Jersey Baptist Church, where she was a lifelong member with Revs. Don Durham and Morris Hollifield officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church fellowship hall from 1:00 until 2:45 pm Wednesday prior to the service. Bobbie was born in Davidson County, September 30, 1927 to Ira Alexander and Annie Catherine Miller Sharpe. She grew up in the tyro community and was the Valedictorian of the Tyro High School class of 1944. Through her working life she was a dental assistant, optometrist assistant and a sales associate at National Outlet; however, the greatest and best job she held was being a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Walser; five sisters, Geneva Mellon, Lucille Leonard, Hilda Carter, Irene Sharpe and Margaret Spainhour and a brother, Claude Sharpe. Surviving are her sons; Charles Walser (Mary) of Greensboro; Michael Walser (Janet) of Faith; grandchildren, Margaret and Hannah Walser of the home, Karen Humphrey (Kyle) of Raleigh and Katie Little (Chris) of Waxhaw; three great-grandchildren, Deacon and Reid Humphrey and Logan Little and her brother, Daniel Sharpe of Thomasville. The family would like to express great thanks to the Carolina House for their service.
