Bobby Richard Bowers

Bobby Richard Bowers, 77, of Hugh Miller Road, died Thursday, June 17, 2010, at his home, following an extended illness. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Todd officiating. Burial will follow in Hedrick’s Grove United Church of Christ Cemetery with military graveside rites. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Bowers was born December 29, 1932, in Davidson County, to Luther Allen Bowers and Fannie Belle Swing Bowers. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Ashemore Business College and co-owner of Bowers Construction Company. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Kimbal Lane Bowers. Surviving are wife, Rebecca Ann Lovell Bowers of the home; sons, Marty Bowers and Darren Bowers and wife, Leigh, all of Lexington; three step-grandchildren, Taylor Clark, Lauren Clark and Ethan Clark; and sister, Frances Biesecker of Lexington; and half sister, Ruby Mae Smith of Lexington.
