Bobby Grant Young, 77, of Echoview Circle, died Sunday, November 29, 2015, at his home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Second Presbyterian Church, where he was a member, with the Revs. Brian Rummage and Bill Sosebee officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
Mr. Young was born June 27, 1936, in Guilford County, to the Rev. Ventress Avery Young and Margie Richardson Young. He was retired Lt. Colonel from the US Army National Guard. During his service he graduated from Ft. Benning Officers basic course, attended North Carolina Military Academy, and was Company Commander of the Lexington unit of the North Carolina Army National Guard. He along with his children were owners/operators of Young Graphics which he founded in 1976. He was a lifelong member of his church where he served as an Elder, taught Sunday school, and was a member of the choir. Mr. Young was a member of the North State Quartet, lifelong member of Square N Aders square dance club, and a member of Greensboro Rounds Dance Club. Both of his children were owners of Young Graphics. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his children, Rodney Grant Young and Theresa Beth Young; and a brother, the Rev. Billy Young.
Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years Tanger Marie Story Young of the home; grandchildren, Joshua Ebert Young, Spencer Grant Young, Taylor Young Rulifson, and Mitchell William Young; great-grandchild, Alexander Grant Young; and brothers, Jimmy Young and wife Shirley of Lexington and Tommy Young and wife Elaine of Greensboro; as well as a Daughter-in-law, Traci Ebert Young.
