Bobby Jones

Bobby B. Jones, 69, of Snider Road, was called home to be with the Lord, to suffer no more, September 21, 2007, at his home. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church by the Revs. Billy Pearson and Bill Hicks. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Jones was born February 6, 1938, in Manatee County, Fla., to Claude Jones and Maudie Beatrice Creacy Jones. He was a truck driver with Food Lion, member of Doug Carter Sunday School Class at his church, and served our country in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife, NeeNee Jones of the home; a son, Michael Lynn Jones of Wilmington; daughters, Frances Gallagher and husband, Thomas, of Winter Park, Fla., and Patricia “Bunny” Jones of Elon College; grandsons, Billy Joe Jones of Florida, Luke Jones of Michigan, Jerry Don “J.D.” Baggerly, Aaron Baggerly, both of Elon College, and Joel O’Dea of Oregon; and a brother, Claude Jones and wife, Ruth, of Hayesville. The family will receive friends 2:30 – 4 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to Hospice of Davidson County, P.O. Box 1941, Lexington, NC 27293 or the Children’s Department at Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church, P.O. Box 183 Southmont, NC 27351.
