Bobby Ray Kilby

Mr. Bobby Ray Kilby, 72, of E. Center St. Ext., died Thursday, February 16 at Forsyth Medical Center after an extended illness. A funeral service will be held at 3pm Sunday, February 19 at Hedrick’s Grove United Church of Christ, by the Revs. David Crook and Keith Perkins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and a celebration of life will be held following the service in the church fellowship hall. Bobby was born June 1, 1950 in Monroe County, TN to Arvil and Peggy Caylor Kilby. He worked for Lowe’s for many years and was the owner and operator of B & G Insulation. He was an avid traveler and enjoyed spending time with his friends, playing cards, telling jokes and attending his great-nephews’ sporting events. His brothers, Kenneth Kilby and Terry Kilby, and his sisters, LuAnn Wysong, Teresa Martin, Gail Cannon, and Linda Bailey, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Glenda Seaford Kilby of the home; his sisters, Kathy Kilby, Lisa Hampton, Debra Horton, and Tammy Killian, all of Murphy; his nephew, Wesley Seaford; his nieces, Geelea Seaford Shipton and Sherry Van Zant; and his great-nephews, Jackson, Mason, and Smith Seaford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hedrick’s Grove United Church of Christ, 3840 Allred Road, Lexington NC 27292.
