Bobby Clay Long, 44, of Larry Drive, died Thursday, December 6, 2007 at his home after declining health for several years.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by Preacher Clyde Akers. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mr. Long was born October 28, 1963, in Davidson County to Lawson Charlie Long and Virginia Holbrook Combs. He was employed at H&V Processing. Mr. Long was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Clallan Ray Combs in 2003 and a sister, Kathy L. Combs.
Surviving are his wife, Susan Byerly Long of the home; daughters, Amanda Long, Felicia Long and Susan Alexander Long, all of Lexington; father of Havelock; mother of Lexington; brothers, Buddy Long of Denton, Lawson Charlie Long Jr. of Lexington, Lee Long of Nashville, Tn., Joel Lane Combs of Princeton, W.Va., and Donald Ray Combs of Lexington; sisters, Cathy L. PeGhin of Lexington, Patricia Coulter of Yulee, Fla., and Flora Uko Tuttle of Yadkinville.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and other times at the home of his mother, 504 W. 5th Avenue.
