Bobby J. Lookabill, 73 of Carawood Lane, Lexington passed away Friday, April 27, 2012 at Hinkle Hospice House.
A funeral service will be 2 pm Wednesday at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Welcome, where he was a member conducted by Pastor Avery Varadore. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6-8 pm at Davidson Funeral home and other times at the home.
Mr. Lookabill was born July 10, 1938, in Davidson County, to Willie Glenn Lookabill Sr. and Lucy Carrick Lookabill. He was retired from Proctor and Schartz and after retirement worked for Hayes Jewelers for 26 years and also Old Lexington Products for 8 Years. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Toby Lookabill.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Shelby Lovell Lookabill, of the home; sons, Ernie Lookabill and wife, Joanna, of Winston Salem, John Lookabill and Randy Lookabill, both of the home, Justin Lookabill of Mocksville; one daughter, Tammy Jo Cox and husband, Chris, of Ramseur; grandchildren; Cody, Brianna and Cadence Lookabill, Jeremy Fleming and Fiance’ Amanda Simerson, Daniel Cox and wife, Leigha, and Ryan Cox and wife, Shelia; two brothers, Willie Glenn Lookabill, Jr. and wife, Becky; Tony Kay Lookabill and wife, Wanda, all of Lexington; adopted daughter, Sam Morgan; and his closest friends, Bruce and Zach Hayes.
