Bobby Joe Lumsden

Bobby Joe Lumsden, age 80, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019 at his residence in Lexington, Churchland community.

Born in Davidson County on December 9, 1938, he was the son of Robert T. Lumsden and Mamie Atkins Elliott. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois (married June 7, 1958), his parents and step-father, George S. Elliott.

Surviving include his daughter, Jill Koontz (Linn); two granddaughters, Tiffany Grubbs (Wayne) and Brittany Smith (Kemp); five great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.

Mr. Lumsden retired from PPG Industries, having been a plant supervisor and was a member of Churchland Baptist Church in the Churchland Community. He greatly enjoyed his family and many friends at Stamey’s Barbecue of Tyro.

A graveside service will be held in the Churchland Baptist Church Cemetery at 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 6, 2019 with the Rev. Renee Easter officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 pm until 4:00p pm prior to the service in the Churchland Baptist Church Sanctuary.
