Bobby Gray Michael Sr.

Bobby Gray Michael Sr., 92, of Lexington, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Reeds Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Watterson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the service at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Bobby was born on May 23, 1932 in Davidson County, NC to the late John Richard Michael and Frankie Rummage Michael. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin Michael and Johnny Michael.

Bobby was a custom home builder and built hundreds of homes in the Davidson County area. Beyond his professional achievements, Bobby was an avid outdoorsman who cherished time spent in nature. He had a deep passion for hunting and could often be found on the golf course, sharing laughter and stories with friends. His love for these pursuits brought him joy and relaxation throughout his life.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 72 years, Mildred Maxine Michael; sons, Ken (Sherri) Michael, Bobby Michael Jr., Jerry (Peggy) Michael, and Terry Michael; daughter, Sandee Michael, 8 grandchildren,  14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren who will all miss him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
