Bobby Lee Mize, 84, of Julia Lane, died Monday, October 28, 2013, at Abbotts Creek Rehabilitation Center, following a two month illness.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home, with Preacher Ralph Byrd officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct.30, 2013 at the funeral home and other times at the home of his sister-in-law, Linda Mize, 201 Western Blvd., Lexington.
Mr. Mize was born March 4, 1929, in Davidson County, to Howard Henry Mize and Julia Lanning Mize. He was retired from Young Hinkle Furniture. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Llevens Mize, Eddie Mize, Vann Mize, Steve Mize, and Max Mize.
Surviving are his loving wife, Mildred Chaffin Mize, of the home; sons, Kevin Mize and Tim Mize, both of Lexington; daughters, Cindy Mize and fiancé, Jerry York, Tracie Mize, all of Lexington, and Angie Johnson and fiancé, Jeffery Curtis of Asheboro; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Don Mize, Murel Mize and wife Carolyn, Allen Mize and wife Jill, and Dennis Mize and wife Rhonda, all of Lexington; sister, Patsy Cable and husband Howard of Boone; and sisters-in-law, Nancy Mize, Clara Mize, Linda Mize, Betty Mize and JoAn Mize.
