Bobby Edward Owens, age 82 of Stanford Road, Lexington passed away Wednesday morning, August 31, 2016 at Hinkle Hospice House after declining health of six months.
There will be a celebration of life service at a later date. The family will receive friends at the home on Stanford Road anytime on Thursday, September 1, 2016.
Bobby was born in Durham, NC to Ervin David Owens and Rosa Lee Bradley Owens. He was a retired employee of City of Lexington Fire Department and later worked for Lacy J. Miller Machine Shop. He was a former member of Lexington Moose Lodge and a member of NC Fireman’s Association. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Tiffany Stanford.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Stanford Owens of the home; daughter, Bobbi Jo Coble (Chris) of Lexington; sons, Tony Owens and David Owens of Lexington; step-daughter, Robin Penny Lynch (June) of Hollister; grandchildren, Seth Coble, Deanna Mills and Paul Lanning, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jessica Alexander and Tyler Lanier; great-great-grandchildren, Asia Marie Coley and A.J. Coley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Central Davidson High School Band, 2747 NC Highway 47, Lexington, NC 27292 or to Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
