Bobby Stevens Shoaf

Bobby Stevens Shoaf, age 88, of Lexington passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Hinkle Hospice House.   Services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 10 at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Rev. Arron Duncan and Rev. Brian Alexander officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 pm Sunday prior to the service.  A 2:00 pm graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, December 11 at Forest Hill Memorial Park.   Bobby was born in Davidson County on May 14, 1929 to Druid Wheeler Shoaf and Beatrice Myers Shoaf.  He was a retired supervisor from Henry Link, Plant 7.  He was in the US Army and proudly served during the Korean conflict for which he received the Bronze Star.  Bobby was a member of Amvets 13, American Post 8, and VFW 3074.  He attended Cotton Grove United Methodist Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.   He is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine Hedrick Shoaf; a son, Bobby Dean Shoaf (Cathy) of Lexington; a daughter, Pamela Hodge, of Lexington; a brother, John David Shoaf, of Lexington; sisters, June Booze of Rural Hall and Judy Knox of Knoxville, TN; a grandson, Jarrod Hodge (Maria) and a great-granddaughter, Rylee Hodge.   In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Cotton Grove United Methodist Church at 175 Jersey Church Road, Lexington, NC 27292; Hospice of Davidson County at 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292 or Cancer Services of Davidson County at 25 W. 6th Avenue, Lexington, NC 27292.
