Bobby Varner

Mr. Bobby Lee Varner, 78, of Becks Nursery Road, died Friday, August 2 at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday, August 8 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by Corky Sink.

The family will greet friends following the graveside service.

Mr. Varner was born March 12, 1946 in Guilford County to Wade Lee Varner, Sr and Willie Grace Garrison Varner.  He was a veteran of the US Navy and retired from Davidson County Schools.  His brothers, Freddy Varner, Bill Varner, and Roger Varner; and his sisters, Annie Mae Brooks, Mary Thomason, Libby Varner, and Phyllis Varner, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Simpkins Varner of the home; his children, Brent Lee Varner, Jennifer Varner York (Rob Gabarino), Sheri Varner McNeill (Ryan) and Toby Varner (Soufin Nay); his brothers, Wade Varner Jr (Gail), and Johnny Varner (Judy); his sisters, Judy Robinson (Jeff) of Greensboro and Shirley Lepann (Paul) of West Virginia and his grandchildren, Reagan York, Merritt York, Cambrie York, Claire McNeill, Owen McNeill, and Nathan Varner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the American Children's Home, 3844 NC Hwy 8, Lexington NC 27292.
