Robert “Bobby” Douglas Wallace, age 70 of Greenwood Street, Lexington (Southmont Community) passed away Wednesday morning at Hinkle Hospice House. Memorial service will be 2:00 pm Saturday (June 5, 2010) at Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ with Rev. Darrell Sluder officiating.
Family will receive friends at the home of his brother David Wallace, 424 Homestead Drive, Lexington, Friday night beginning at 6:00 pm and at the church following the service in the Sanctuary.
Bobby was born in Davidson County September 2, 1939 to Teddy Roosevelt Wallace and Rosa Inez Carter Wallace. He was a retired Truck Drive with McLean Trucking, and attended Sheets Memorial Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Tony Douglas Wallace and a brother James “Jim” Wallace.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Cagle Wallace of the home; three daughters, Shirley Wallace and husband Vic, Rita Darlene Trantham and Beverly Wallace all of Charlotte; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Donald, Larry and David Wallace all of Lexington and William Wallace of Denton.
