Bobby Fay Weaver, 79, of Reedy Creek School Drive, Lexington, passed away suddenly at his home Saturday, May 14, 2016.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at Good Hope United Methodist Church in Reedy Creek, with the Revs. Eric Morphis and Chris Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Bobby was born June 30, 1936, in Davidson County, to Burgess and Maggie Phillips Weaver. Bobby worked 54 years at Ellis Jewelers where he was their watch and clock repairman. He served 23 years with the A-RC-H volunteer fire department where he also served as fire chief. Bobby was a dedicated and faithful servant to his church, Good Hope UMC, where he served as sound technician for many years and started the tape/CD ministry for shut-ins. Along with his wife, he also served faithfully in the church cooler ministry and with home delivered meals. Bobby was known throughout the community for his kindness and willingness to be of service to anyone he was around.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Leonard Shoaf, brothers, Archie Weaver, Bryce Weaver, his twin brother Bill Weaver and infant great grandson, Zachary Ryan Coe.
He is survived by the love of his life Betty Sue Leonard Weaver; his daughter, Sheila (Darrell) Beck, of Westerville, OH; his son, Benjie (Kimberley) Weaver of Hickory; his grandchildren, Courtney (Joe) Coe, Clay (Tara) Beck all of Westerville, OH, Emily (Mike) Cuccarese of Boston, MA, and Ava Weaver of Hickory; three great grandchildren, Annabelle Coe, Natalie Coe, and Ivan Cuccarese; a sister, Pauline Jones, a brother, Don (Lib) Weaver, both of Lexington, and many loving brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Good Hope Church CD ministry or Backpack Program, 10253 Hampton Road, Lexington, NC 27295.
