Bonnie Jean Bruff Ashby, 69, of Cedar Drive, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at High Point Regional Hospital, after a brief illness.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Clyde Akers and the Rev. Dr. Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2012, at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Mrs. Ashby was born September 16, 1942, in Davidson County, to Lewis Merita Bruff and Daphane Mae Lanning Bruff. She was a member of Second Reformed Church of Christ and attended Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are her loving husband of 49 years, Robert Ashby, of the home; daughters, Tammy Burkhart and husband, Kim, Cindy Murphy and husband, Marty, Sherry Kepley and husband, Bill, and Robin Shrewsbury and husband, Joe, all of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Zach Burkhart, Jenna Burkhart, Tiffany Kepley, Molly Kepley, Hailee Shrewsbury, all of Lexington, Matthew Murphy and wife, Sandi, of Dallas, Tx., Jonathan Murphy of Lynchburg, Va.; brother, Lewis “Buddy” Bruff and wife, Bet, of Lexington; and sisters, Joann Louya and husband, Jack, Betty Thompson and Sarah Hunt and husband, Raymond, all of Lexington.
