Bonnie Carrick Owens

Bonnie Carrick Owens, born on May 29, 1947, peacefully passed away on August 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved daughter of the late Johnny Arthur Carrick and Wilma Louise Snyder Carrick.

On June 20, 1965, Bonnie married the love of her life, Gary Lee Owens. Together they shared a lifetime of love, faith, and unwavering devotion. Their marriage was a beautiful example of commitment, friendship, and unconditional love.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Steve "Spud" Carrick, and her sister, Doris Roach.

Bonnie leaves behind her devoted husband, Gary Lee Owens; her loving children, Brian Owens and Jamie Owens Freeman; and the light of her life, her beloved grandson, Colby Bailey, whom she cherished beyond measure. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who were blessed to know her.

Bonnie was one of the sweetest people anyone could ever have the privilege of knowing. She had a gentle spirit, a warm smile, and a heart full of compassion. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or simply listen. Her kindness and genuine love for others left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved deeply and unconditionally, and she made sure those around her always knew they were loved. The memories she created with her family will be treasured forever.

A woman of unwavering faith, Bonnie was a lifelong member of Mountain View Baptist Church. Her relationship with the Lord guided every aspect of her life. She faithfully served Him through her kindness, humility, and love for others. Her faith sustained her through life's joys and hardships and was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

Although her family grieves her passing, they find peace and comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. Bonnie's legacy of faith, love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Alderwood of Davidson County (formerly Hospice of Davidson County) in Bonnie's memory. The compassionate care and support they provided to Bonnie and her family during her final days will always be remembered with heartfelt gratitude.
