Bonnie Leonard Smith

Mrs. Bonnie Rose Leonard Smith, 78, of Beck’s Church Road, died Saturday, June 19 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center after an extended illness. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 21 at Second Reformed United Church of Christ, by the Rev. Dr. Joe Coltrane. Burial will follow at Beck’s Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith was born September 13, 1931 in Davidson County to Ira Odell Leonard and Hallie Tysinger Leonard. She attended High Point College and had worked at the Register of Deeds in Arlington County, VA. She was also a member of the Officer’s Club at Fort Myer in Arlington. Her sister, Iris Leonard Queen, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Charles Wesley Smith of the home; her son, Phillip Smith, and wife, Jackie, of Carolina Beach; her daughter, Kristen Smith of Lexington; her grandchildren, Samantha Smith and Justin William Smith; and her niece, Lindy Queen of Lexington.
