Boots Burdette

Beulah Brendle (Boots) Burdette, 82 formerly of Charlotte, went to be with the Lord, Sunday evening March 4, 2012 at her home in Welcome. A graveside service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday March 7 at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia with Rev. Mark Blair officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Mrs. Burdette was born April 16, 1929 to George and Hattie Amanda Shepherd Brendle. She retired as owner and operator of A Busy Bee Daycare in Charlotte. She attended First Baptist Church of Welcome and was a member of the Sanctuary Sunday school class. She was an active member of the Welcome Lions Club and collected thousands of pairs of glasses for donation. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy Burdette and two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are daughter, Myra Davidson Lanier and husband Randall of Welcome, sons Garry Davidson of Shelby, Dave Davidson and Veronica of Charlotte, and stepson Randy Burdette and wife Bobbie of Charlotte, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a very special friend, Pete Redfern of Gastonia. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Welcome Lions Club, P. O. Box 302, Welcome, NC 27374, the Davidson-North Gideon’s International, P. O. Box 1598, Welcome, NC 27374 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
