Boyd Hayes Clodfelter, 86, of Lexington, NC passed peacefully in his home on April 24, 2024.
A celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Pilgrim Reformed Church -located at 797 Pilgrim Church Road in Lexington - where Boyd was a lifelong devoted member.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church parlor. The service will be officiated by Reverend Richard Moore, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pastor David Berrier of Oak Grove Moravian Church will share special words and memories.
Boyd was born August 28, 1937, in Davidson County, to Clarence Reid Clodfelter and Mary Hayes Clodfelter. Boyd was a devoted member of the church and he loved the church family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Boyd Lee Clodfelter who died 1999, and by his older brother, Donald Clodfelter.
Having retired from RJR, Boyd was an avid outdoorsman and a lover of history. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and with his family. He was passionate about his faith, his church family and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 62 years of marriage, Julia Berrier Clodfelter of the home, daughter, Suzanne Clodfelter of Lexington, son, Jason Clodfelter of Asheville, grandchildren, Jacob Lee Clodfelter, Courtney Gray Clodfelter, great grandchildren, Grayson Lee Mize, Arianna Rae Mize, brothers, Paul Clodfelter wife Lynn, and Max Clodfelter, both of Lexington, sister in law Deanna Michael, and brother in law Sam Berrier, both of Lexington, as well as his dear friend of 70 years, Leon Gailey formerly of Thomasville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pilgrim Reformed Church, 797 Pilgrim Church Rd., Lexington, NC 27295.
