Boyd Lee Hedrick, 96, of Lexington went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Hedrick’s Grove Reformed United Church of Christ with the Rev. William Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm on Friday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and from 1 pm until 2 pm prior to the service at the Church.
Mr. Hedrick was born in Davidson County on July 28, 1926, to Robert Lee Hedrick and Esther Cornelia Swing Hedrick. He was the owner/operator of Hedrick’s Body Shop from 1955 until his retirement in 2010. Mr. Hedrick proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He was a loving father, brother, and grandfather whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Farlow Hedrick; a son, Gary Boyd Hedrick; two brothers, Gerald Hedrick, and Larry Hedrick; and a sister, Jackie Miller.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Dr. Greg Kent Hedrick (Lynn), Mark S. Hedrick (Janet), and Julie Hedrick; a brother, Bill Hedrick; a sister, Phylis Trogdon; nine grandchildren, Emily Hackett (Todd), Adam Hedrick (Mary Catherine), Elizabeth Lanning, Jonathan Lanning (Jasmine), Jacob Lanning, Jeremy Reece (Nichole), Jennifer Smith (Drew), George Wilson, Jr, and Judy Wilson; eight great-grandchildren, MacKenley Hedrick, Hadley Hedrick, Harper Hackett, Evelyn Hackett, Kinley Reece, Ashton Smith, Easton Smith, and Sadie Louise Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews and other extended family.
