Boyd Smith Swing Sr., 84, of Lexington, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at his home.
No public service will be held.
Mr. Swing was born Sept. 14, 1922, in Davidson County to Robert C. Swing and Mattie Fritts Swing. He was a veteran of World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was a master brick and stone mason and a very gifted woodcarver who enjoyed carving wildlife figurines and fishing lures. He was loved by many and respected by all. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Mr. Swing was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Madeline Morrow Swing of the home; two sons, Milton Swing of Virginia and Boyd Swing Jr. and his wife, Fengmin Min Qian, of China; one daughter, Tanya Rennich and her husband, Thomas, of Washington; four grandchildren, Donald Swing and Leslie Swing of Virginia, Thomas Rennich Jr. of Washington and William Rennich of Idaho; two great-grandchildren, Autumn Swing of Virginia and Holden Rennich of Idaho; two brothers, Forest Swing and Holland Swing, both of Lexington; and one sister, Bobbie Everhart of Vermont.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and other times at the home.
