Brasco "Doc" Beck

Brasco “Doc” Hill Beck, 85, of Doc Beck Road in Lexington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.   A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Lexington.    The will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.   “Doc” was born on November 28, 1932 in Davidson County, NC to Percy Madison Beck and Eva Burkhart Beck.  He was the former owner of Friendly Market and Doc Beck’s Café and was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He proudly served in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War.  “Doc” was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Marilynn Hedrick Beck; brothers, Colon Beck and Waldo Beck, and sister, Faye Cherry.   Surviving is his son, Kevin Beck (Tammy) of Lexington; daughters, Cindy Beck Barber of Cheraw, SC and Mitzi Beck Taylor of Lexington; brothers, Alex Beck and Leonard Beck of Lexington; sister, Mary Kivett of Lexington; six grandchildren, Nicole and John Mark Barber, Amber Tolbert, Sarah Beck, Heather Bowden, Megan Bowden; and six great-grandchildren, Aleaha, Madison, Hayden, Bentley, Bradley and Weston.
